Apple is no longer so alone in the high-end smartphone sector, due to increasingly voluntary competition and models that are constantly improving at Samsung, OnePlus or Huawei. This iPhone Pro, with its name inherited from the Macbooks, has great qualities to promote.
The design of this iPhone 11 Pro is a little surprising. Not that it is very original, because it remains close to that of the iPhone Xs, but the diagonal of its screen remains less than 6 inches which is rare and makes it easier to use with one hand. However, you have to deal with quite marked screen edges, and the notch on the front is important, because that's what makes the facial recognition system so fast. It's a pity that behind its action it's necessary to unlock the screen! The finishes are impeccable and Apple even offers a very successful new shade, green-grey. On the other hand, the integration of photo modules will not please everyone. As usual, Apple has not put a Jack port, USB-c or micro-SD card port. On the other hand, the waterproofing is there, up to 4 meters.
With 5.8 inches, we have a reasonable screen diagonal, with a beautiful resolution that contributes to good visual comfort, with unusual values of 2436 by 1125 pixels. The contrast is absolutely impeccable, and the same goes for the brightness, which is always perfect in all circumstances. The colours are rendered with great fidelity, always accurate and with the right temperature, with the possibility of adapting on the fly in addition with the True Tone functionality.
The absence of a Jack port requires the use of a Bluetooth headset or adapter for the Lightning port, but it is not provided despite the very high price of the device, which is all the more unfortunate. On the other hand, the speakers of this iPhone 11 Pro are excellent and offer an excellent rendering, precise and powerful.
The processor of this new smartphone obviously allows it to manage all the tasks required of it without showing any latency time, with a fluidity that lasts. Of course the games are very comfortable on this iPhone 11 Pro, which allows players to enjoy the graphic details at their highest level.
For the photo, Apple uses three sensors: a main one of 12 million pixels, a second one for the wide angle and finally an optical zoom. The first one is of excellent workmanship, there is nothing wrong with the photos he produces, because the rendering is realistic and rich in detail, with however a small problem in the edges of the image. In low light, iPhone 11 has a night mode that does its job well and allows you to enjoy images with a well-managed smoothing. It is only when the light is really minimal that Apple's smartphone shows up at the pain. The wide-angle module manages the edges of the image rather well, which remain readable, whereas it is often a weak point for this type of lens. The details are well marked, as long as the light is there, because the darkness strongly affects the images, which do not however suffer too much from smoothing. When zooming, however, the iPhone 11 pro is struggling, with a certain lack of precision in the details, too affected by noise, and this gets worse when the darkness is marked. For the rest, the portrait mode is a real success because it recognizes faces very well. Video capture is very natural, with perfect fluidity even in very high resolution, where competition is often at a premium. Finally, the selfies are excellent, with a little regret for the portraits, less successful than by the main sensor.
We know that autonomy is not always Apple's strong suit, but the increase in the size of the battery has a very positive effect, with now the course of a day and a half that is reached without too many worries, even for the most demanding. Less playful users, for example, will make this iPhone 11 Pro last two days without giving up too much. For the first time, Apple offers an 18 watt charger, which finally allows fast charging: it was about time!
