Our opinion
OnePlus is now firmly established as a major smartphone manufacturer, with a fairly small but consistent range, and this OnePlus 8T model comes to take its place alongside the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, trying to offer a high-performance device at a contained price.
Its design is quite classic, with a curved glass back in a beautiful color, which has the good taste to hide in some way the fingerprints. The flat screen of the OnePlus 8T is still very pleasant and well optimized, and the general ergonomics, very classic, lacks almost no detail. If we can regret the absence of a micro-SD card slot, this is increasingly common on recent smartphones and generous storage.
Rather large with 6.55 inches diagonal, the screen of this OnePlus 8T offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, which adds a real comfort to the use with this extra fluidity. To enjoy the colors with the maximum accuracy, you need to make a small passage in the settings and the trick is done. The luminosity faces all situations without problems, and the contrast is infinite, which makes this panel a great success.
If, as always, you have to do without a mini-Jack port, it should be noted that the two on-board speakers are effective and sufficient for most uses.
Very generous in its configuration, the OnePlus 8T is most powerful and is never put in difficulty to perform a task. Games also run at full capacity without any worries or graphical concessions.
The smartphone has no less than four photo sensors. The most classic one, with its 48 million pixels, actually does better when used in 12 million pixel mode, but there is still a small lack of detail and a little too much smoothing. It also has to deal with this marked smoothing in the dark, but the photo remains acceptable. The ultra wide angle module is not much better, the fault of a treatment that excessively accentuates the details and causes the opposite effect to that desired. The portrait mode is very well made and effective, which makes up for the overall picture, and selfies are not lacking in quality, whatever the situation. Nothing to complain about the video capture, very successful.
For autonomy, OnePlus has completely missed, and the 8T runs out very quickly, too quickly, in a day a little intensive. Fortunately, it can be recharged quickly using the charger provided.
