Apple has already given Pro versions to its latest iPhones, and this twelfth iteration of the emblematic smartphone has some very serious qualities to show, always faithful to the principles of the apple brand, as well as to the criteria of excellence of the iPhone.
The design of this iPhone 12 Pro marks a certain return to its roots with straighter, less rounded lines and edges than on previous models. With frosted glass for the back panel, elegance is the order of the day and the absence of any other sign except the brand logo is a mark of elegance. If this is not visible, the MagSafe technology for magnetically attaching accessories is present. On the front, the beautiful slab with an elongated format (19.5:9) is however equipped with a large notch, which embeds the camera used to unlock the iPhone 12 Pro, with a downside for the mask, even if Apple is working on the subject. A few micro changes in the location of the buttons do not change the general ergonomics, and the charging and connection port remains Lightning. The IP68 standard, which guarantees resistance to prolonged immersion, is a good thing.
The screen of this large iPhone 12 Pro is very large, 6.1 inches diagonal, with the generous definition that goes with it, 2532 pixels by 1170 for a nice reading comfort. Once again, Apple has done an excellent job for the rendering of this panel, which is precise and renders the colors with great fidelity in their temperature and balance. It remains readable in all environments thanks to its well adjusted brightness.
There is obviously no mini-Jack port, but even more adapter for the Lightning port, which you will have to buy separately. This disappointment is partly compensated by the excellence of the speakers, which remain accurate, powerful and therefore suitable for many uses.
Power is the order of the day on this iPhone 12 Pro, whose processor is hyper performing in addition to the software optimization in which Apple excels once again to get the best out of the system environment. This level of performance is also bound to last a while as Apple's lead is so great.
With its three photo modules, the iPhone 12 Pro offers a configuration that is classic but which proves to be very balanced, complementary and efficient. The main sensor has only 12 million pixels, but its realistic rendering and rich in detail is flawless and has no reason to be ashamed when faced with lenses with more pixels. Its efficiency in low light is not too much affected and the photos remain readable without too much trouble. Its "night" mode still allows you to improve the results, but you have to stay perfectly still. The ultra-wide angle module is quite impressive because of its efficiency, with homogeneous images rich in detail, without too much smoothing. The same goes for the x2 zoom, again with the right amount of detail and even a rendering that does not degrade excessively in the dark.
Apple's portrait mode is even better, with background management that improves as you take pictures. As for the selfies, they are of impeccable quality. The video mode is extremely complete and successful.
A day, a day and a half of autonomy is often what the apple brand promises and that's what this iPhone 12 Pro offers, which is not at the level of the most durable smartphones, the fault lies with an undersized battery.
