Our opinion
Like many other manufacturers, Samsung offers a more affordable version of its flagship smartphone models with its FE range. It's therefore no surprise to see the release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, which aims to strike a balance between affordability and powerful features without overshadowing the Galaxy S25.
In terms of design, the S25 FE is a little bulky and heavy, although this is less of an issue given the general increase in smartphone size. The device is made from attractive materials, including aluminum and glass, and is very sturdy, not to mention waterproof, with an IP68 rating. In terms of connectivity, Samsung has included almost all the latest standards, but there is one small caveat: you'll need to choose your case carefully to maintain wireless charging.
While the screen on this Galaxy S25 FE isn't as excellent as the one on the S25 range, it's still very good. The resolution is sufficient for good readability (1080 by 2340 pixels), the refresh rate is not dynamically managed, but the color rendering is very good, and the screen can be used even in very bright or very dark environments. The smartphone therefore has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to its display.
The Galaxy S25 FE has nothing to be ashamed of in terms of power, with a chip and memory that are sufficient for normal use without any loss of fluidity, whether for web browsing or social networking. Games are a little more difficult compared to its big brother, the Galaxy S25, but the fluidity remains sufficient most of the time, at the cost of a slight noticeable heating.
There are three photo sensors on the back of this smartphone. The first module, with its 50 million pixels, performs well, with good detail retention despite a slight tendency to overexposure and slightly saturated colors. In the dark, Samsung's software processing does its job well and limits quality loss. The ultra-wide-angle module struggles a little more, with a lack of sharpness and a slightly messy overall appearance, with a few small flaws that add up. On the other hand, the telephoto lens is too poorly defined to produce nice shots. It's a disappointment with poor sharpness and disastrous results in the dark.
The front-facing selfie module is decent, even if the details could be more pronounced, but video capture is very good.
The Galaxy S25 FE's battery life is very good, easily lasting a day and a half before needing to be recharged. With a 45-watt charger, it still takes almost an hour and a half to fully charge.
