Our opinion
OnePlus now has a solidly established, and deserved, reputation for its range of smartphones, all of which are very interesting, with even some nice technological flagships, like this OnePlus 9 Pro, packed with technologies that make it very interesting in more ways than one.
The all-glass design makes a very good impression when you see it, and the photo sensors from the cult brand Hasselblad are seductive, but beware: the whole thing gets fingerprints. Large and heavy, the OnePlus 9 Pro is nevertheless pleasant to handle and the keys fall well under the fingers overall. On the front, the punch for the selfie lens is forgotten. Nothing to complain about on the connectivity, complete, even if you have to do without a micro-SD card, and the waterproofing is well in place. Unfortunately, you have to do without a mini-jack port, but also without an adapter to use your old headphones.
The 6.7-inch diagonal screen, a very generous resolution of 1440 by 3216 pixels, Oled technology and 120 Hz refresh rate: OnePlus has done everything to offer maximum comfort to users. The infinite contrast is well and truly present and the brightness perfect in all circumstances. It will just take a little detour in the settings to achieve a color rendering without any defect.
The power is obviously at the rendezvous of this OnePlus 9 Pro, which offers a multitasking without any slowdown, always fluid in all circumstances. Games do not pose any problems and gamers can not make any graphical concessions while maintaining a real display speed.
With three sensors signed Hasselblad and the aura that is that of the photo brand, expectations were very high. The main sensor coexists with an ultra wide angle module and a last one for the telephoto lens. The main module offers 48 million pixels, for a globally convincing result, with a nice contrast but a smoothing a little too strong prevents it from completely convincing. This observation is valid for the 12 and 48 megapixel modes, since both are offered, with a level of detail necessarily higher in the second. The rendering in the dark is more realistic on this OnePlus 9 pro than on previous high-end models of the brand. For the ultra wide angle module, the rendering is certainly cold, but quite realistic, with the success of maintaining a good level of quality in a dark environment. Finally, the telephoto lens is a disappointment. If in the dark, it is often the case, here the quality is also very average during the day. For the portrait mode, the sensor that manages the depth comes out brilliantly in terms of cutting the subject on the background, and the self-portraits are beautifully done. The video capture is in 4K, without ever worrying about fluidity.
The autonomy of this OnePlus 9 Pro is clearly a disappointment, largely due to an undersized battery. However, the charger provided fills the smartphone in a short time and makes it usable very quickly.
