Foldable models are now a must-have in the smartphone market, and Google is therefore present in this sector. The brand is targeting the high-end market with the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a powerhouse of technology and efficiency.
Although similar to the company's previous foldable model, this smartphone is hard to ignore due to its weight and thickness when closed, but this goes hand in hand with high-quality finishes, a hinge that is said to be very durable, and IP68-rated water resistance. Google's bold decision to opt for two asymmetrical sides gives the Pixel 10 Pro Fold a certain charm, and the quality of the materials used to protect the screen, such as aluminum and matte glass to cover the whole device, pays off. You just have to accept the slightly pronounced edges of the screen, but it's nothing serious. Finally, there are no complaints about the technology built into this smartphone.
When you unfold the inner screen of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, you get an 8-inch, almost square display with a beautiful definition (2076 x 2152 pixels) and a resolution that is more than sufficient for reading text. The generous brightness means you don't have to worry about overly bright environments, and the color calibration is a success. The outer screen, which is more conventional with its 6.4-inch diagonal, also performs admirably, with good definition (1080 x 2364 pixels), a refresh rate that can go up to 120 Hz, and brightness without excessive glare. Colors are also rendered with great precision.
In terms of power, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold performs very well for all standard uses, switching smoothly from one app to another without slowing down and offering excellent optimization in terms of AI tools. However, the gaming experience is hardly noteworthy, and this smartphone is no match for its competitors. You'll have to make significant concessions in terms of graphics, not to mention avoid the latest games.
When it comes to photography, Google is always eagerly awaited, as Pixel phones have had a reputation for quality for several years now. With its 48 million pixels, the main module delivers excellent results: sharpness is evident, exposure is well managed, and details are rendered with finesse. In the dark, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold performs very well with good smoothing and light management, resulting in photos that retain a very high level of precision. The ultra-wide-angle module, with 10.5 megapixels, also performs admirably, capturing scenes with a beautiful balance, particularly in terms of color. On the other hand, darkness significantly degrades the images, which is to be expected. Finally, the third module, dedicated to zoom (optical, with 5x magnification), is average, even if the sharpness is reduced: it remains usable without too many problems. In a lightless environment, this telephoto lens shows noticeable limitations and the rendering remains just acceptable for social media.
For selfies, the two sensors (in the internal screen and on the front) are very good, and their 10 million pixels are sufficient for a pleasant and accurate rendering. For video capture, 4K and smoothness are included.
In terms of battery life, Google has made an effort to offer a more powerful battery. In practice, if you use the Pixel 10 Pro Fold reasonably, you can get through a day's use, but you'll need to recharge it in the evening. This recharging could have been faster.
