Our opinion
A breath of fresh air—that's the promise of the iPhone Air, a real innovation from Apple that demonstrates a desire to offer a phone that bucks the trend toward ever-larger sizes and volumes, with lofty ambitions that are largely fulfilled.
The design is sure to impress, with an extremely slim profile that is very rare, resulting in a weight that is also quite unusual, especially since the iPhone Air is not particularly small. Apple has paid attention to the feel of the device in the hand, but the camera protrudes slightly, which does not detract from the overall balance. The device is made of beautiful materials and has a perfect finish. All the classic Apple buttons are there, and the connectors and built-in technologies are up to date, with one point to note: the eSIM is mandatory!
With a 6.5-inch diagonal, a screen needs a good resolution, and the iPhone Air delivers with 1260 by 2736 pixels for perfect sharpness. The rest of the features are just as good: the brightness is absolutely perfect in any environment, with little glare, the refresh rate is finally adaptive and goes up to 120 Hz for optimal fluidity, and the color accuracy is flawless.
The power of this iPhone Air is impressive, thanks to both its latest-generation processor and remarkable optimization by Apple. On the other hand, games tend to heat up the device, unsurprisingly, and this affects battery life.
The slimness of this smartphone has forced Apple to opt for a minimalist camera configuration, with a single sensor on the back of this iPhone Air. However, with 48 million pixels (and producing 24-megapixel images per combination), this module performs very well, with richly detailed images and striking contrast that is pleasing to the eye. The quality remains more than acceptable when the light dims, for a beautiful result. On the front, the selfie sensor is excellent, and Apple Intelligence support makes it easy to capture everyone in a group photo, with a plethora of useful options. Video capture is flawless and smooth, with the option to use both sensors at the same time.
The battery life of this iPhone Air is inevitably affected by its slimness, but although the battery isn't huge, you can use this smartphone for a day without too many worries, except when using it for gaming, in which case it suffers greatly and the battery life drops rapidly.
